Club XIII is officially a members-only club, but stylish (not New-Russian/Mafioso) non-members are also allowed in. The face control is super-strict and even members that are not dressed properly will be barred from entering.

The club is filled with top beauties of both sexes and its crowd is a significant factor in making it look that fancy. The expensive cars parked outside go well with the rather expensive cover and exorbitant drink prices (beers start at $5.

Inside, you will see that the cover charge is worth it. Three separate dance floors and a chill-out room boast superb design along with excellent sound and lighting systems. Club XIII takes pride not only in its layout but also in its nightly shows. Rumor has it that they spend up to $5000 per weekend in prop and performance expenses. The themed parties seek to submerge the guest in the kinky and sexy atmosphere.

Such was the case at the Marquis De Sad theme of their first birthday party, held March 13. The party was great, with Hennessy cognac and Moet & Chandon champagne flowing freely. Eventually the place got so packed that a long line accumulated by the coat check.

Although exciting and absolutely enjoyable, such places give me an impression of being all about show-biz arrogance and flamboyance. It seems like some of the local patrons are here not to enjoy the party but rather to fulfill some obligation.
