I was completely shocked about it. All this year, I managed not to spend more than 10 rubles per trip. Now, the price of my everyday transportation has doubled. This restricts my freedom to go where I want in Moscow. I used to go somewhere in the center twice a week, especially on weekends. Now, I prefer to stay home watching TV. So now I'm in a bad mood because of 2 lousy rubles. In my family, this price increase only affected me badly because my parents work near our place, and they don't want to give me more money for travel.

I find this measure strange and unreasonable. The dollar-ruble exchange rate has been stable for a long time and it's not clear why our life is becoming more and more expensive. From one point of view, there is no actual inflation in the country. From the other, the price increase is the first sign. Maybe it's the result of politicians' schemes first, they think of how to steal money from the budget and then think of how to refund these losses at our expense.

I live in Odessa, but I visit Moscow frequently. I remember that on the morning of July 15, metro tickets still cost 4 rubles, and by midday, the situation had suddenly changed. I wasn't ready for it. Besides, I came to Moscow to show my child all the nice things. I have to pay too much for entertainment. In contrast, in my city during the summer, children can use public transport for free. I have already gotten used to the price increase on everything, and I don't even think about the reason for it.

I think this price increase is connected with the exchange rate situation. Today, this rate is artificially supported. This influences the dramatic rise of inflation and, as a result, monthly metro and bus tickets for students cost 48 rubles now, instead of 36. We are talking about money every Moscow family loses, and we don't even think of how much money the government and the Finance Ministry spend every day to hold the exchange rate at around 27. These measures are just one result of inflation.

My family knew that, sooner or later, it would happen. For us, it wasn't an unpleasant surprise because the media announced it ahead of time. So, we were ready for July 15. Life is becoming more expensive and no one can help it. On the other hand, we were promised that salaries would increase, too. Now it's just words, but who knows? The minimum wage was increased.

I don't travel through the city a lot during the day, but nevertheless, I bought several bus tickets in advance because I was informed about the changes. But today, I have just one ticket left so tomorrow, I'll feel this dramatic increase at full value. But seriously speaking, I understand and somewhat approve of the change. Public transport is a very unprofitable branch of the economy, which is financed by the federal budget. So, the government needs extra money to develop it.
