The goal of the Yandex’s WiFi support program which was launched at the end of spring this year is obvious — the more accessible the Internet is, the more the number of people that will be using Yandex, said Yelena Kolmanovskaya, Yandex chief editor. "Yandex persuades horeca — first, connect to Internet, second – install a WiFi hot-spot, third -give access to clients for free," she added. "The reason is that horeca will collect more money by providing additional free service to clients — as unlimited sugar for coffee or free newspapers — than trying to sell Internet, which is not horeca's core business. Yandex also helps horeca to speak with providers and get comfortable prices and supports both sides by advertising." Kolmanovskaya noted that Yandex has unified the biggest wireless collective access networks, which already include 32 cafes and restaurants — all of which are listed at site wifi.yandex.ru. "When you see the sign of Yandex.WiFi on a door it means ‘welcome with your notebook or PDA and feel free to surf internet."
