It appears that the award of infamy, Silver Galosh, which honors the most questionable achievements in Russia's show business, has had its day. This year, it included only seven categories. The awards ceremony took place in the Chaika swimming pool on June 20. "Anshlag" TV show host Regina Dubovitskaya won the "It Doesn't Sink" category - for staying in show business for the longest amount of time - but she wasn't present to collect her award.

Celebrity appearances in TV commercials were not forgotten, and the award in this category was taken home by Alexei Vesyolkin, who was among the few winners who dared to show up and climb to the stage to get his prize. Pop star Alsou and composer Igor Krutoi collected gongs for the year's most inventive piece of plagiarism. Other Silver Galosh winners included the OSP Studio, Dmitry Dibrov, the band Mumiy Troll and Margo and Max from the reality show "Za Steklom."
